2002 Toyota Sequoia front windshield wipers

When I try to turn on the front windshield wipers nothing happens. However, when I turn on the wiper fluid the wiper blades still work. This doesn't help when it is raining and I can't get the wipers to turn on. I'm hoping I just missed something and I don't need to replace the wiper switch assembly. Any help would be appreciated.

This same thing just happened to my 2014 sequoia. Wiper fluid comes out but wipers themselves won't work. Don't know what to do or why.
