Power window problem
Asked by SpamPorker Jun 28, 2018 at 07:53 PM about the 2003 Toyota Sequoia SR5 4WD
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
My driver side window works fine, the front passenger window will go up and down with the driver side switch but not the switch on it's own door panel.
The two rear passenger windows won't operate at all with any switch... If i use the driver master panel switch for either rear passenger window, I hear a click in the switch but no click when trying to operate from it's own door panel switch.
I pulled the rear driver side door panel and put a meter on the wires before the switch and operated the main switch at the driver seat and it sends power... Metered after rear switch, no power. So I thought it must be the switches.
I went to a junk yard this afternoon and pulled all switches out of another sequoia and swapped them out one by one... didn't work.
I'm pulling what little hair i have left out on this one.

I have the exact same problem in my 2003 SR5. In addition, the rear hatch window used to only work with the key when this first started happening, and now won't work at all. Please post more if you figure it out. Thanks!
I too have the same problem.Had multiple electrical problems as a result of a bad light switch when head lights would not turn off resulting in dead battery. So had to disconnect battery a few times before visiting a dealer shop to a tune of $500+. Was to costly to have them look at my current window problem so I need to fix this on a DIY. --So as a result of my battery disconnects this may have caused my window problem. So I have a idea it may be a relay not operating. I believe these are located under the dash behind the fuse panel.
Any updates on the power windows not working?
Well as I was looking into this problem got side tracked when my parking lights would not go out. So found trouble in relays under the dash-fuse panel. I got to tapping randomly these relays and the lights would go out as it should. About 5 relays are here and got lucky on my first pull out of a relay which revealed the problem. (am still working on my window problem)
Every window in my car works except the driver. I rolled it all the way down because it was hot and now it won't roll up
I have finally figured out the problem with all the windows. To recap, the driver window worked fine. The passenger window only worked from the driver switch. The rear seat windows didn't work at all but would make a small click noise when operated from the driver switch only. the rear hatch would only work with the key. I checked the "power main relay" behind the fuse panel in the driver foot well area. Sure enough it wasn't working but the relay itself was fine. There is a signal wire coming from the driver switch "driver door ecu" that tells this relay when to activate. It is red - light blue and it is located at terminal #7. I jumpered the wire at the switch to force it to have voltage and that's when everything started to work normal again. I jumpered it from #7 to #21 which is a black - red wire. I used a small wire and went in from the back of the wide connector to do this since the connector needs to be plugged in. I got my new temporary wire ends to fit in along with the original wire at location 7 and 21. When this worked I determined that the driver switch is no longer allowing the voltage to go out of #7, which is the window lock circuit. So I bought a used driver master switch off ebay and it still didn't fix it. Turns out the switch I got off ebay was bad also. Finally found a switch that wasn't bad and everything has been working ever since. In conclusion, the problem is the driver door master switch, which takes about 2 minutes to replace. However, seems that there are several bad ones out there in the used market. Brandon it sounds like your problem is possibly the motor itself.
Thank you!!! This was our problem exactly with our 2007 Sequoia. You saved us a lot of hassle and money! Anna
