2005 Impala not running right, can you help me?

Asked by niftyless Jul 02, 2020 at 12:18 PM about the 2005 Chevrolet Impala LS FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

One day my car would not start unless I gave it gas, and
once it was running it was idling high and then low trying to
stay running.  And then when I would drive it for maybe 30
seconds it would shut off and turn on till the next morning.

Check for applicable trouble codes, anything related to tac? throttle actuator control. You might try cleaning the throttle bore and around throttle plate. don't force the throttle plate.

If the vehicle has never had a tune up or you don't know if its ever had a tune up, you're overdue! Plus clean or replace the IAC (Idle Air Control) valve. Hope that helps! Jim
