Question type: Maintenance & Repair

MY toyota sienna xle makes a whirring or winding noise but I can't tell if it comes from my tires or transmission. It does when I accelrate above 40 mph. Can you give me more info on what this might be please? thank you very much. Debbie N.

Hi dgn! It's hard to imagine a noise that could be with the tires or the tranny, but if it's the tires chances are there would be a noise throughout the speed range, not just above 40 mph. So I'm guessing tranny. To be sure take it to your local tranny shop and have it looked at to prevent things from getting more expensive. Good luck!
