STRANGE NOISE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
WHILE DRIVING, SPECIFICALLY WHEN ACCELERATING OR SLOWING DOWN THE MINIVAN I'VE HEARD NOISES: "BRIEF SHRIEKING SOUNDS FROM EITHER THE FRONT OR REAR END, FOR ABOUT 15 TO 30 SECONDS."
MY ONLY MECHANICAL GUESS IS THAT, probably,THE ABS SENSORS WERE SELF-TESTING with THE VEHICLE SPEED AND BRAKES FUNCTION!?
Can someone please explain this.

turn the stereo up louder, haha
or the fan belt might be loose and stops squealing after it heats up from spinning on the pulleys
There was a recall on the brakes. I'd only take my sienna to a highly trained Toyota MDT. They are the only ones that are trained high enough to trouble shoot.
it can't be a Fan belt if it's coming from the rear end too. it might be brakes, but I can only see it being a loud shrieking of you've worn them down to the wear sensors. I'd get it looked at right away. And as the lady below mentioned, if there is a Recall on your Van, Toyota should perform it for free, so it couldn't hurt to ask!
Plus, I've only every had a belt scream at me accellerating, never slowing down... you're taking force off the belt slowing down, not applying it...
I just got a 2009 sienna van and hear the same noises. I have gone several times to the dealer and they keep telling me I must be crazy!! I am so upset.
