Asked by Ms_LBW Aug 06, 2016 at 12:58 PM about the 2005 Toyota Sienna XLE Limited AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

As I drive curvy dry roads, the VSC and ABS systems engages sporadically. The dealer cannot isolate the problem.  The problem continues to worsen preventing me from taking the car on any  road trips.

Hi my name is Barrie Crampton and i am from the UK barrie@bccars.co.uk get someone to check and see if your car has a Yaw Sensor (Lateral Movement) sensor, if its faulty when you drive round a bend or a curve, the car thinks you are in a skid (back end stepping out) and applies the ABS to bring the car back into line,

The ECM reads data from the wheel speed sensors to determine well,... wheel speed. The ABS and Traction Control will be enabled when the ECM sees a variance of speed between each wheel. These variables are coded into the ECM. My guess is that the ECM is seeing this variance in speed which may be enabling these systems in the vehicle. Has your mechanic verified/calibrated the wheel speed sensors?
