1998 Toyota T100 Engine Shuts off, Spits and sputters.

Asked by Guru98FTDH May 29, 2022 at 10:22 AM about the 1998 Toyota T100 2 Dr DX Extended Cab SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

1998 Toyota T100 about a week ago, it felt like a few cylinders missed at
normal highway speed. Yesterday I drove about 30 minutes. Stopped at a
light and it shut off. Turned off the switch, it cranked. Drove about half mile. it
shut off again. turned it off, after a couple of times turning off and trying to
crank, it started. a few minutes, it shut off again. now, it starts sometime,
starts missing, RPM drops, it shuts off. Cranking with no start it will pop or
missfire a few times. It has new coil packs, wires, fuel pump, fuel filter,
injecters. After replacing all this it ran great for about 3000 miles.

Sorry to bring up old post but i have very similar issues with a 96 t100. Changed many parts and hasnt fixed. Randomly sputters and dies. What ended up being the issue with yours?
