What can be wrong with my car if I press the gas's and the speed will only go up to 50 mph and the rpm go all the way up and I can't feel the car switch gear

Could be a plugged catylitic converter, the transmission could be slipping or the torque converter isn't locking up. Check the transmission fluid level while its running. If its low fill it up to the proper level then look for a leak. If the fluid is brown/black(it should look like cherry kool-aid normally) and smells burnt the transmission is most likely toast. I would have it looked at by a REPUTABLE mechanic regardless after you check the fluid level.

The rpms are going all the way up? You should stop that before you blow it up. Sounds like your trans is messing up. U need to take it to a shop

If the transmission is toast probably $1500-2500. Depending where you live and who rebuilds the transmission.
