Water inside of suburban

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
Two times I found wet carpet under the
mat at the back of my 2005 suburban. It
has not been raining. Although we have
had high humidity. The back AC vents and
fan has been on. No other carpet has been
wet.

Your drain for the rear airconditioning unit is plugged. Condensation builds up in the unit and should drain out the bottom of the vehicle. If you look under the passenger side rear of the vehicle you will see a rubber nipple attached to the underside of the vehicle. I used a thin stiff wire to poke into the rubber hose/nipple and had water gush out. I have to do this periodically.
I made a "tool" for this task using a straightened out large paper clip and taping it to a piece of coat hanger rod. Helps when the exhaust pipe is hot.
