over heating!!!

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So I have a 95.5 tacoma with the 2.7l engine and i cant seem to get it to stop overheating. I have repalced the thermostat (several times), flushed the radiator, made sure the water pump was working correctly and still nothing. There are no obvious signs that the head gasket is bad (no oil in the water and no white smoke) and the engine runs great but overheats in a relatively short period of time (5-10 min). Even if the head gasket was bad... it shouldn't over heat with the cooling system full and thermostat working properly right? Is there some sort of engine temp sensor besides the thermostat that could be bad?
