Over heating

check to be sure there is not an air bubble/pocket in the cooling system, I know its silly but ??
Let the engine run with the radiator cap loose /"just barely on" (to prevent getting splashed with hot water-later), let the engine run the radiator water up to aprox. operating temperature. As the water ( OK I know its got coolant it, but hay ) reaches operating temp. The hot water will expand and push the "colder" water farther into the water passageways [note: have the heater "ON" at this time ] and out toward the radiator; this will also push any air along with it. As our hot water pushes the water/air into the radiator the air will do what it wants to do and rise to the top. At this point it is possible that the trapped air will "sploosh " out [a tech. term] of the fill hole along with some of the hot water (thus the loose fitting radiator cap). After that event, leaving the engine running, add water/coolant to refill the radiator to its required level- retighten the radiator cap and you should be good a new. IF the condition persists I'd take the truck to: 1-dealer OR 2-a radiator shop for further testing
