if starter motor won't crank the engine, when problem is ongoing, make sure battery has a full charge and battery cables/connections all good. Maybe problem with ignition switch? Note the diagram for trailblazer starter motor. Two voltage circuits at starter motor, one is hot all the time, comes from battery. The other circuit goes hot when relay is energized. The starter motor grounds through engine block. Any testing at starter motor make sure transmission is in park or neutral and parking brake is set. Vehicle can't move. Test for voltage and ground, when problem is ongoing. good luck.

Could be ignition switch. I'd also check ground G201, a ton of stuff grounds through this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TefXuAlBEtg
