Tundra leaking coolant / Pressure from radiator cap

Asked by Eric Sep 18, 2018 at 04:35 PM about the 2005 Toyota Tundra 4 Dr SR5 Crew Cab SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have checked just about everything I know
dealing with the cooling system.

1) replaced thermostat, with new one
2) ran without a thermostat
3) replaced radiator cap
4) Checked water pump for leaks
5) checked for oil residue in coolant, none

I am at a loss on why my truck keeps blowing
coolant and steam from under the radiator cap
once it is at running temp. My temperature gauge
at all times reads normal range.

I have noticed some slight wear on the radiator
edges where the cap should seat down on, would
this cause it to leave and blow steam? Seems the
cap is on tight however.

I am at a loss anything else I can do to figure this
out? Thank you

Try bleeding air from system like this. Remove cap from overflow tank fill with antifreeze to full mark leave cap off and start vehicle and let idle you will notice level in tank start to rise this is normal once thermostat starts to open level in tank will drop add more antifreeze to full mark then put cap back on.
