Question type: Maintenance & Repair

05 Tundra 4.7 v8 is building up way to much pressure and
blowing all the antifreeze out of radiator cap I already
replaced 2 thermostat and 2 radiator caps I can’t figure
out what’s causing it there’s no water in the oil at all so
don’t think it’s a blowed head gasket this is my only
vehicle and have 4 kidswho has upcoming dr appts and I
need help ASAP on diagnosising the problem so I can try
to fix it

They couldn’t find any traces of gasses in coolant

I also put in a head gasket sealant just Incase and still doing it. It will build up so much pressure once it hits normal temp if ya raise the RPMs it blows all the coolant out around the cap and it won’t even be over heated it will read where normal temp

Had to put thermostat back in it was leaking cuz it’s got a rubber gasket that goes around the actual thermostat and it was leaking without it in it. But it’s blowing the coolant out around the cap before running temp I checked the resovoir hose and it was clear of any blockage also. But when it does get warm and blows the coolant all out and steams everywhere the engine makes a gurgling noise off and on. Also after it cools down and I re add coolant there is something in drivers side of engine that kinda clicks kinda like a thermostat opening but it was on right side of engine and not near actual thermostat so idk if there’s another type of part in there or what but I wouldn’t think so. Sounds almost like a relay resetting noise

Me too. My 2004 is running just fine but noticed a anti freeze smell when I get out. I've been adding coolant and going on but it seems to be coming from the cap area

Same problem! I have checked for CO in the coolant. Negative . Then Replaced the following cooling system components; radiator, radiator hoses, thermostat, coolant serpentine belt. Still overheating and the heater core is not getting hot even with the valve on the firewall wide open . Next step bypass heater core and flush system from heater hoses. First the engine then the heater core. Replace coolant cross fingers and start it up with heater core bypassed.

Just ran a block/ dye test on one this am,, blue to yellow in 30 seconds of cranking as well a filling the tester with bubbles, internal issue, if youve no gases after doind a proper dye test, with the appropriate tool, then its a flow issue or stuck stat, per haps impeller on the water pump? Plugged radiator from all the additive and lack of maintenance?

Maybe y'all can help me. I recently noticed that my 2003 tundra was leaking coolant all over the top of the engine. Its dried all over the intake box and plastic engine cover. I cannot seem to find any leak point even when the truck i running. Any ideas?
