Starting disabled

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a 2005 Chevy Uplander. 6 Mons old
starter. I drove to school to pick up my kids.
Turned it off, it would not start again. Got it
jumped to get home. Next day, it would not
start again. Have a portable
starter/jumper. Tried it. Battery is OK. All
rights, horn etc came on but it would not
start. Message says "starting disabled".
What does that mean? Is it due to spark
plugs?

Not sure if this will work for everyone but I disconnect both battery cables, connected a battery charger/jumper to the cables only, leaving battery away from cables. it started up using the key, then I tried the fob it worked also.. I reconnected the battery cables to battery and tried again. it started with keys and the fob. good to go
