Transmission gets hot then won't move

I have an 04 avalanche I just put a rebuilt
transmission in with new torque converter
and it's doing the same thing my last one
did it won't shift while driving and
eventually goes in a neutral mode I can't
move the truck until I let it cool off then I
can move it another 100 feet then it does
it again can someone plz tell me what's
going on

You didn't put the tranny in did you ? You had it done by someone , take it back to them or get a second opinion , they may not have changed anything only took your money , it would not surprise me .

Time to move on to a newer vehicle that wants to run. It's 18 years old, transmission failures are common with a GM, and it will cost more to fix than the vehicle is worth! Sorry! Jim

Sounds electronic, possibly a TCM going open. A good transmission shop can do stand alone testing and then determine if it's electronic, something with the transmissions cooling or just a bad transmission.
