why does my 04 chevy impala run rough, and seems to not want to shift at times?

idles rough and when i am driving down the road it seems to cut out sometimes. when stopped at light and start to go it makes a hard shift sometimes. can anyone help me with this or tell me where i need to start to fix it. thank you

Sounds like your engine needs some care, a going over. Should first put a code reader, scanner on to check for codes to see if it is more than just a tune-up. Spark plugs and wires would need to be checked, along with the Throttle body being cleaned, intake manifold checked, see if there are any vacuum leaks, the MAF sensor and screen cleaned properly, it just needs to be checked over to see what it needs.
