Why is my 04 Suburban bogging out?

Asked by Guru72Z6P Jun 18, 2020 at 12:10 PM about the 2004 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 LS 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Fuel pump and fuel filter were replaced in my
04 Suburban, not too long ago. It will start
right up and run fine, had it running for 2
hours in the driveway the other day (forgot
about it) took it for a drive down the road and
it bogged out and died. Took the battery home
and charged it, reconnected it the next day,
started right up no problem, drive it a minute
down the road and it bogged out again and
died. Battery light came on this time. Any
ideas ??

Okay, thank you both! That was my first guess, but of course guys never think a girl is right I will change the alternator! Hopefully that does the trick!

Oh gosh no, I am saying me! I thought it was the alternator but of course the guys I said it to didn't think it was. ‍♀️ (I am a female)

I am mechanically inclined. Took auto for 3 years in school, got certified and all that good stuff. Still like to get advise and opinions from others that may know more than I do. But, I like to do all the work on my vehicles. Yes, hopefully I can prove them wrong! Thanks again!

Security light is on? Flashes when I lock and close all doors, but once I go to start it, it goes on and stays on, doesn’t flash. It’s solid ?

Yes, I did the relearn procedure. Okay, I will call a local dealer or shop and see who can do it. Thanks!
