Hi its best when flushing your system to use the recomended coolant for your vehicle. That information can be found in your owners manual. If you dont have the owners manual you can download it for free here..http://www.manualsonline.com and the only time you should put water in your radiator is if that is the only choice you have otherwise always use 50/50 diluted coolant or 100% concentrated coolant in which you have to dilute yourself.. Good Luck....
Don't do just water. Fill it up with Dexcool, 50/50% mixture of Dexcool and water. If you use concentrate (cheaper), get a hydrometer (about $3). Want the mixture to read -35 degrees for a proper 50/50 mixture. Anything less than that OR more than that, can cause overheating. You'll have coolant/water in the block that won't drain out, so recommend concentrate.
You could use only water with a rust preventative added in but if there is freezing weather you will crack your engine. Water Wetter is another additive I would use. A little known fact is water is a better coolant than anti freeze.
