Alternator wiring hook up

Asked by Michael Mar 23, 2018 at 01:36 PM about the 2001 Mercedes-Benz S-Class S 500

Question type: Car Customization

I have a 2001 Mercedes Benz S500 rear wheel
drive they did a motor swap and put in a 2003
S500 4matic motor the only difference I've noticed
so far is there's only one wire going down to the
alternator instead of two and it's a blue wire with
plug at the end. before i had 1 blue and 1 black
with yellow stripe I was wondering what I can do
to make the wiring harness work rather than
swapping the whole wiring harness over to the old
one

All I could find, s500--5.0L engine. I even looked at partsbook, samething, appears to be two wire connector. Maybe you have a different engine? In the diagram, # 1 goes to sam module. #2 goes to battery, fuse protected. Sorry that's all I got.

This is what my database shows. That's all I can do, I can't see anything from here? Maybe it will help a little. My thinking is, yes, the big power wire.
