2003 chevy avalanche

Car starts right up but after driving for a
while and it gets hot if i shut the car to rin
groceries in or anything it wont restart until
it cools off for an hour or 2 . Also putters
and feels like its gonna stall but not all the
time . Any suggestions on whats wrong

It just started doing this about a week ago after its cooled off starts right up no problem at all
