2001 slk320 friend pushed red button for top down and it went straight down into console. How much to fix?? Fixable??

sell it. Buy a MINI...that is going to be a lot more fun to drive...they make convertibles too~

You must slowly assess the situation....look at what failed and what can be mended....would be my only comment here~
But I would just have to push it anyway.

park it in "home position", put a piece of caution tape over the button...and call it a day.~

Top goes down fine coming up got slower and slower now stop half way
I was also looking for an answer and no one has one. Obviously the clips need replacing, but the dam button fell into the console and I have no clue how to get the console open to get it back up and flush on top? I'll post this in questions. Do people who KNOW cars actually read these?
