SLK 320 2001 Convertible

The retractable hard top on my convertible is not working properly. When the top is
retracted there isn't a problem but when I put the top up the quarter windows don't
come up and when I try it a couple of times then I can get the quarter windows up but
the red light on the switch to open and close the top flashes and alarms. Any
suggestions on what the problem could be?

have you tried synchronizing the rear windows? That would be the first task. If that doesn't work, then you start looking at switches and motors for the problem.
