02 f250 only taillights out

Asked by Jared Feb 15, 2016 at 09:27 PM about the 2002 Ford F-250 Super Duty XL 4WD LB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I've got a (gas) f250 2002 just basic 4x4
work truck. Have a western plow on the
front. I had an issue with the plow a few
days ago so I was messing with stuff but
nothing significant. (Pulled and put back a
couple fuses)  since then it has been
brought to my attention that i have no tail
lights. The dash lights work, the brake lights
work, the running lights in the front work,
and all the light-related fuses under the
steering wheel seem to be fine. In reality, I
don't rightly know if the taillights were
operational before the plow thing.

I don't have a tester to see if the fuses are
getting juice, and i don't really want to drop
$50 on a headlight switch to see if that's it.

Any suggestions or ideas on how I can
figure out what or where the problem is?  I
can't afford to get pulled over loll. Thanks in
advance.

Possible a bad multifunction switch or brake light switch - the tail light get power from both of those components
