2003 Chevrolet Cavalier with 110,000 miles.

Asked by Winfield Dec 05, 2013 at 07:11 AM about the 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was wondering if anyone has a detailed list of the cost for maintenance on my car.
I would like done: Timing chain replaced, starter (still on the first one), Ignition coil & plugs, and a fluid leak test for coolant, oil, and transmission?

I am doing preventive work so I can get another 100k miles while I still have the money. And I'm just looking for the cost. I'd do it myself but rather a professional do it right.

Winfield: Put the money in the bank. I'm driving a 2003 Cavalier Z-24 with 250,000 miles on it, still the original timing chain and starter. Coil packs you do as needed, same with the starter. Plugs get done about every 100,000 miles or if the light comes on.

My book said the timing chain is the life of the engine on that make and model. If the tensioner gets noisy, I usually change the chain at the same time.
