Rattling noise coming from the pulle side of the motor.

Asked by Thomas May 15, 2018 at 09:46 PM about the 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier Sedan FWD

Question type: General

Replaced the tensioner pulley already tho the store gave us the wrong one
so its a bit modified to fit and the old one had a bit of a rattle and did not
replace the belt yet since they also gave us the wrong belt which i will be
taking back soon. There is a still a persistent rattle from the that side like
something is loose maybe, checked the alternator and its spinning just fine.
Any suggestions?

I neglected to mention that the same rattling noise had occurred before replacement, kinda what qued me to take interest in the problem. But likely since the belt still needs replaced im sure getting the correct pulley definitely wouldn't hurt.
