Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2001 Ford F250 Super Duty developed several electrical issues all at
once.   The battery drains dead, the inside and outside overhead lights are
power cycling, there's a buzzing noise coming out of the dash somewhere
behind the light switch assembly, the door chime stays on even when key is
removed from the ignition, the AC stays on when vehicle is turned off and
key removed from the ignition, the speedometer was going crazy and then
quit altogether.  Battery is 7 years old but very lightly used and holds charge
when draining issue not present.  Alternator charges 14+ volts when running.

Thank you. I tried wiggling it and there was no change. I took it out for a ride this afternoon and when I got back, everything was working fine. I had a couple of bad ignition switches on Ford vehicles a few decades ago so I know how tricky and intermittent they can be.

The truck is old enough to have a failed switch. I have a 2002 F150 and the switch is pretty dodgy.

Truck has 240K miles on it. The more I think about it, the more I think you're right. Thanks,
