Is $6,800 obo a good price this 1998 Mustang Cobra SVT with a little over a 101,000 miles. It has a list of extras in it.

Not bad for a Cobra, do some double checking. Does the owner have the maintenance records or receipts for repairs done by either a shop or himself?
The person that listed it for sale didn't say anything about maintenance records or receipts. The person also lists that the car does have a prior salvage title because it was hit in the right rear in 1999 but the person listed that everything was taken care of and it is all good now.
As a salvage title you will NEVER get what you paid out of it. Rule of thumb is that it is worth half of whay Blue Book is on it. Even if it was state inspected and passed as a rebuilt title.
Thats illinois policy, go to your states DMV website, look up car titles and look through your states rules and regulations. If it is over ten years old it does not need to be state inspected here.
