2000 Ford F250 xlt super duty 7.3l

When I park on an incline such as my steep driveway or a boat ramp, the
shifter is hard to remove from park and i have force it. Wondering what is
problem and how to fix it or what kind of shop to repair it.  Also, took truck to
get the parking brake fixed so I could use the parking brake during this issue.  
they replaced the rear rotors, e brake pads and left rear cable.  The truck
wont hold on an incline with the parking brake set. Is this normal? The
mechanic said that he adjusted as close as he could to the rotor,

When parked on an incline without the parking brake set, your car rolls slightly and puts pressure on the parking prawl (a pin that locks the transmission in park) that's normal....as for the parking brake, is it the hand brake style or pedal style? Does it max out? The cable may need tightened

In the meantime, when you get ready to shift from park, do so with one foot outside and keep the other over the brake pedal (to prevent rollback so that you don't damage the parking prawl) give it a light push uphill and then press the brakes before letting it have a chance to roll back. That will ease the pressure on the prawl and allow you to shift out of park easier

Mechinic that told u he fixed it and it can’t hold... is blowing smoke up ur u know what... the parking shoes should be replaced new... when it’s correctly adjusted the push down lever for the parking brake should move about 2 inches before it gets hard.. if it’s easy to push still and u can push it to almost the floor it’s not adjusted right
