I reset the ODB2 after a repair, now after 20p miles
driven in varying conditions it syill shows the
catalyst and ERG monitors still showing  "not
ready".  What do I need to do to help this?

sometimes it can take a good amount of driving to get them to read ready. common problem with those impalas from what i know is the EGR passage way becomes clogged with carbon build up on the intake manifold and EGR connection point. what repair did you recently have done to it?
