Gear ratio

Asked by mstahl Jun 19, 2008 at 01:14 PM about the 1995 Ford F-350 4 Dr XLT 4WD Crew Cab LB

Question type: General

What is the standard gears that are in this vehicle?  I am looking to buy one to haul my 5th wheel but I would like to find one with 4:10 in it.  If it comes stock that way it would make it much easier.

I believe they came with this optionally. Need to check dealerships to see what they have for you.

check the tag on your rearend case. If the tag is not there, pull the cover, draining all the fluids, and look on the ring gear for a number (actually 2 numbers separated by a :) divide these two number into one another and you will get your ratio. (ex. 43:14 would give you 3.07:1 ratio.........43/14=3.07) ......replace the gasket and fill the rearend with fresh fluid and friction modifier.
