95 ford f350 won't shift when cold.

Asked by DylanSmith Jan 29, 2016 at 01:37 AM about the 1995 Ford F-350 2 Dr XL Standard Cab LB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I got a 95 ford f350 1 ton 5 speed manual that
wouldn't not shift at all when it was cold I had the
clutch replaced that didn't help the truck sat at
Ford for 3 months they rebuilt the transmission. It
drove fine till I was about home and the clutch
feels like it's slipping. Should I replace the flywheel
or the slave cylinder?

I had an 81 with a bad slave cylinder that would act up like that. In the summer I could shift just fine empty and it would slip loaded . bit in the winter it acted like there wasn't a clutch even there. I later found out the previous owner in a pintch had put in atf.

It all depends on what you expect out of it I suppose. With the pretty big price gaps and not 100% certain this will fix the issue if it was me I'd buy an oem or comparable one. If its under a 50-60 dollar fix I'd say u won that fight... Change it, bleed it and bleed it again And then go from there. The one I had got for my 81 I think was like 25$ at the time and I never had an issue with it.

Okay I will try that. Thanks man I'll be sure to post how it turns out. So how did it turned out??
