A loud clucking noise

Asked by sistasunshine Jun 13, 2017 at 07:23 AM about the 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer LT 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Every once in awhile when going around a curve
getting off Highway there is a loud clucking noise
coming from up front. My 4wd setting doesn't work
properly but it sounds like the 4wd trying to shift.

Could be something in the drive line like a CV joint in the front axle. Look for a torn boot over the CV joints. There would be grease coming out, the boot would look wet.
