Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi, I have a 1990 Ford F-150 and I have a question
about Air Conditioning. I was driving home and the
A/C was blowing cold (recently filled it up). Once I
got home I went to turn off my truck and the ignition
actuator was stuck so twisted the steering wheel
and shook it a little bit and with some force I turned
the truck off. When I did that I saw a small puff of
smoke come from my steering column area and my
A/C shut off. I checked the heater/ A/c fuse and it
looked fine. I was guessing maybe I shorted a wire
or something like that. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

maybe something, or a wire got stuck in the steering column, look under your dash, sometimes wires will try to turn with the steering wheels.

If you seen smoke from the column, you have a burnt /shorted wire in there, you will have to remove it to see what damage you have, more than likely going to the ignition.

There are to main wire,s coming into the iginition one trigger,s the starter and the other power,s thing,s such as ac and other accessorry,s may even be the ground wire that has gone bad,the only way to truly know is to remove the covers on the colmun and see what is damaged.
