You could need a new AC Compressor if your vents are blowing air but not cold with MAX A/C turned on. Before you go out and buy a new AC Compressor, check your coolant levels and try to get the compressor recharged. You didn't leave much information but there are shops that can tell you what's wrong with your AC with 30 minutes of time spent diagnosing the problem.
YOu really need a set of manifold gauges to determine the problem. lBut for starters, start the engine and turn on the AC to max cold. Look under the hood at the AC compressor. Look at the front of the compressor straight on, the pulley being turned by the belt. The clutch on the front should be turning. If it is not turning it could be low on refrigerant. When the refrigerant level gets low, the compressor automatically shuts off so it does not get damaged. If it is turning, but cycles on and off every second or so, you are low on refrigerant and more has to be added. Refrig does not evaporate within the system or get low, it leaks out. The leak must be repaired or you will just be wasting expensive coolant. It will leak out again.

OK let me throw in a little more information. I was doing a little offloading and must havery snagged my wiring harness going to back of vehicle and stretched my harness and even got a few places that left a couple wires loose and pulled the plug loose in the back. It knocked out my lights completely to rear of the vehicle and blew a couple fuses in which I have fixed all now. But ac. Was working great up to that point.
I'm looking at buying a 2006 f150 and the compressor didnt kick on. They put it in the shop and added some coolant and they say it now kicks on. My question is can I trust it to work this summer? And is it to new of a vehicle to kick the compressor on in defrost mode?
No, it will not work in the summer. The refrigerant is charged into a closed system. Over time it does not evaporate, need replacement, or gets old. It leaks out because the system has a leak. Anytime a system leaks, air gets in. Meaning the cause of the leak must be located and repaired. The accumulator should also be changed anytime the system is opened.
I have a 2008 Ford F150 5.4 I was driven it and it made a noise humming noise then the AC stop working the AC clutch isn't turning at all wat could be the problem
My 2014 F150 XLT ECOBOOST A/C QUIT WORKING FOR NO REASON I HAVE A INTEGRATED DASH HOW DO I DETERMINE THE PROBLEM?
If my a/c compressor is working and the line is freezing cold fuse and relay switch work but not blowing out any air what can I look for next
