Check the spark plug wiring for correct firing order and unplug the distributor "spout" connector. Check timing (with timing light) make sure timing spec is OK even with out engine starting you can do this. Finally use a vacuum gauge connected to direct intake vacuum whats the reading during cranking. It might not be receiving the the signal to fire injectors and plugs. Do the Ford STI diagnostic test .. counting CEL flashes or use a scanner for codes.

Timing and everything checked out. It's like the injectors are not firing. What would cause that?

Research the .net. There is a not so complicated procedure to check if injectors are receiving a signal to fire.
