Fuel pump won't shut off
Hey i own a 1993 xl Ford f150. The problem I have
with it is that I can start my truck using starting
fluid and it'll run until I shut it off and then if I try to
start it without the starting fluid then it'll just crank
over. I've replaced and programmed a computer
and changed the fuel relay and fuel filter and the
fuel pump. Also I checked my fuel pressure and it
was good. I just don't even know now because if I
turn the key position to on the fuel pump will kick
on and won't shut off which for some reason
doesn't let it start? Just needed to know if there is
anything I could possibly check ive been 5 months
without my truck so this was my last option, is to
ask for help so please and thank you if you can
help me out.
I have a the same problem and did the same thing you did. But there one last thing. A bad fuel injector or a plugged up injector. Did you try anything with your injectors?
I've started the truck using starting fluid and I let my truck run for a while maybe 30 mins and then I would shut it off and it would start right up bc fuel pump finally shuts off but only when engine is hot and if I let it cool off it won't shut off and I have to use starting fluid again, so that's an update?
Can somebody tell me why I'm having the same problem
I own a 93 F-150 XLT 4wd. Before you proceed with anything you should check your fuel pump pressure. Both at idel and under a load. At idel you should have around 25 pounds of fuel pressure, and under a load you should have around 30 to 38 pounds of fuel pressure. If your fuel pressure is noy correct, you can have multiple problems. GOOD LUCK. hERES MY BABY
