And It will crank from the solenoid on the fender!!
I know this sounds stupid, but sometimes it is the simplest thing. My daughters 99 came with a key fob for the doors and anti theft device. After years and years she exited the vehicle, but instead of using the fob to lock the door, she pushed the botton on the door down. She then reentered the vehicle using the key instead of the fob. The car would not crank. The lock/unlock button on the fob had to be pushed to deactivate the anti theft device. Make certain you do not have a problem there.

does your truck have the duel tank selector valve i would check that if that doesnt work you can go further into investigating, your issue, you can check the wiring going from your column to the computer or starter, sometimes they dry rott, and that could be the culprit, I ended up rewiring alot of that wiring and replacing that dual tank selector switch, also under your passenger side is a fuel pump cutoff switch which can trigger if that kick panel is bumped just the right way it could be faulty as well, hope this helps as well.

you can also check your battery cable the positive end and then the starter wire coming from the starter to the soleniod on the firewall, and one more is the alternator recharge wire which is green and is attached on the left side of the soleniod, sometimes dryrotts, sorry i didnt mention these as well I own a 92 f150 it has had all of these issues you have described.
