transmission not shifting 3rd and 4th gear traction control have anything to do with that why its traction controlhave no acceleration

Well my son had a 2007 Chevy Avalanche his Tran was shifting hard but he had 2 cods I change the timming sensor and the 2 knot sensor and it took care of it but that what codes were showing my friend got one doing the same thing but no code good question?
