so, i have a 95 f150 and it just clicks once when try to start it. Any sugestions?

it started fine until one morning i went to start it one click i tried a couple more times and it started then hasnt since except for when i jump started it to drive it home

If it clicks and you can jump start it the battery is likely low on charge. Need to check to see if alternator is charging the battery of if the battery is good. The battery should have 13.8 to 14.6 volts measured at the battery while engine is running. It is more than .5 volts less I would suspect the alternator to be defective. If you are getting the 13.8 to 14.6 volts then I would suspect the battery or battery cables. Always check the battery cables first. They need to be corrosion free and tight.

i very highly doubt its the battery ive had it on a charger and tried boosting it ive dealt with bad batteries they will still start a vehicle if u boost it and the battery doesnt drain it holds a good charge

Will it start with a jump? Also have you had the battery load tested? Checking voltage doesn't guarantee anything.

A solenoid that clicks only once is usually a sign of a bad solenoid or bad battery. Momentarily jump the solenoid to the starter. If it starts the problem is either a bad solenoid, bad connection, or not connected properly.

Clean and tighten battery connection at the starter first, this is a common corrosion problem on old pickup trucks. Second try jumping the solenoid from battery hot side to the small activation terminal. If that does not work the solenoid is NG. If neither works your starter switch is NG but that is not likely.
