How do I access the Tailgate release actuator on a 2002 Chevy Blazer? Gate is shut and will not open.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The tail gate will not open. Not the glass hatch, nor the metal gate. There is a weak sound
when you push the button, but no release. I expect there is some "trick" to get these open
when this happens. Can anyone help me out please?

Run your hand along the inside top of tailgate after raising glass, there is a hinge in side ,a little left of middle of the tailgate, open with fingertips, pull up,pull tailgate down

On my 2001 ZR2 there is a slot hidden under top edge of the felt in the center of the dropgate so you can stick a screwdriver in there and move the arm. Don't pay any attention to the idiots on YouTube that say you gotta drill holes or break anything to get in there. That's what I did. Now I know better.
