1998 F150 4.6 triton

Asked by Jourmandan123 Feb 23, 2019 at 05:06 PM about the 1998 Ford F-150 Lariat Extended Cab LB

Question type: General

I have a 1998 ford F150 with the 4.6 Triton . The
engine is trash but i found an engine that was in a
2006 F150 its also a 4.6 Triton. Can it go right into
the 98 without much modifications?

1 Answer

That would be a big maybe. There were two different engine plants building 2 different engine versions and there is a 8 year difference which means there were changes along the way. If you try this swap be sure and get the ECU and wiring along with the donor motor.
