Were Dougman Headers Stock on 2002 Camaro Coupe?
I just bought a 2002 Camaro Coupe but there's a hump in the floor board on the passenger side. I can't find out if this was something Chevy did as OEM or was it added later. Also, what would I have to do to eliminate that system and get the floor board back to normal?
The hump is OEM, it allows clearance for the passenger side catalytic converter.

Not really unless you were to cut the floor pan and fabricate a flat floor pan in its place.
If the floor pan is humped to fit a catalytic converter, this is new to me. I'm not really sure Chevy did this. Headman headers was not a factory option. Due to strict smog laws, the factory exhaust system is either cast iron or steel. If custom headers were put in, to get clearance for the cat, the floor board may have been modified for it to fit. Put the car on a lift rack and have someone that knows exhaust systems look at what was done. If the floor board has been cut and re-welded, it is a fabrication project. Be careful as the heat from the cat may start a fire if it is too close to something that could catch on fire. A reliable muffler shop that routinely installs header systems may help rid you of your hump and get everything set up right.
The floor pan hump was for the catalytic converters. All 4th Gen F-Body cars have hem. It was originally put there for 6 cylinder cars and was more cost effective to leave it there in the v8 cars as well.
seems like a strange thing to do unless it was done to capture a certain, young buyer who drives by him or her self a lot, lol. Thx for everyone's input. My wife won't ride with me. Could be a good thing, lol. Nope, just kidding.
