My Chevy cavalier has a 5speed manual transmission. It won't go into gear and no matter where I move the shifter it's like it's in neutral. The cable isn't broke but it won't go into gear.

on mine the part that the linkage goes on to that connects to the transmission and it goes into the transmission a cotter pin rusted away on it I had to pull that part out of the transmission and then drill and tap the old cotter pin out and I actually use the nut and bolt to fix it. it is not the clutch

Lololololol I have the answer .......... OMG it just happen to me ....it took me all day .... It's soooooòoo easy ..... duh .. it's a gear selector pin its not moving ... the shir pins broke. . No way to get it out ? Pull the transmission! Orrrrrr. Shove something throue the broken pin ... its hollow. . A nail will work .. or an allan key .. youll have to bend it . Or just use a Calder pin .
