Question type: Maintenance & Repair

There is power up to ignition switch
No juice to engine.  Starter was
acting weird a few days before.
But it cranks fine now, just no juice
to engine. Maybe harness or starter?

Crank angle sensor stated shims might be needed due to abnormal front crank bearing wear, so I used them. 148,000 miles. Harness, Starter solenoid or ignition switch. Not much left but alternator. Going to try to sell it after I fix it Too hard to work on, seems I bought a lemon.

either ignition module .. not sure. if ecm fuse blown, look for shorted wiring first.

Found sparking from main harness to A stainless line like transmission line. The plug from back of alternator runs into this group of wires. Cant work on it too cramped need to unhook more so can pull it thru. Might be easier to just replace the harness than fix it, or pull it off then repair it... Im just a shade tree mechanic anyway.

Ok so I unhooked stuff to pull it back enough to find a salmon colored wire exposed, was arcing off onto oil dipstick tube like a small sparkler. I now have power to the coil, ecm and Crankangle sensor. Should start but it doesnt. When I hook up code reader it says check connections. Then goes blank. When I turn on ignition it has to reflash memory in computer bios ? 10 minute wait or when security light goes off. Security goes off in bout 15 seconds.
