Battery light

Asked by Madroofer39 Mar 25, 2018 at 09:05 AM about the 2002 Ford F-150 XLT Crew Cab 4WD SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My truck was running fine until last night. I was on
my way home and hit the gas to go and the battery
light came on, all the lights dimed as well. All the
gauges read normal as they should. The alternator
was changed 3 months ago. I checked all the
battery terminals and the starter solenoid
connections they where fine, but I cleaned them
anyway. Any ideas?

I had the problem with my 2005 Ford Five Hundred. The first alternator replaced went bad after two months. Took it back to the auto part store, after about three months the battery light came on again and lights dimmed. I had to end up at the Ford dealer where they replaced the alternator (rebuilt) with a new one. Maybe you have a rebuilt alternator and is going bad. Have it checked.
