2002 Chevy Impala

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
My impala (i think 6 cylinder) was running normal
today, i cut it off while waiting on my daughter to
come out of school and it will not start, it turns
over and tries but will not catch (i thought it was
out of gas) my gas hand does not work, so i put
gas into it. It still will not start, i heard it could be
the fuel pump or the fuel filter. What do you
suggest it could be?

Knock sensors is notorious for going out which will cause this I have had to replace 2 on my cars and a friends. It is right behind the harmonic balancer on most cars.

Is there a place that want charge me to put it on a machine and see what comes up. And how much does it usually cost to change out the knock sensors?
If you have a autozone near you have them hook up to see what codes are if not there is other parts places that will for free
You can get your own code reader to then you will always have it there is some that's not to expensive
