The key for ignition is not keyed the same as door key? Try moving back out and in to try it in other places of the key itself. I had extra key mad from my key I had and it works barely for my door by doing as said above but yet works great for the ignition switch. Sounds like the door or ignition switch lock has been changed out or the key smith is new on the job and has no-clue. Or you ignition switch is bad. Have the ignition switch removed and put a new one in with new key.
