My anti theft system is stopping my 2002 Chevy Malibu from starting

My 2002 Chevy Malibu wont start because
of the anti theft system I tried that 10 minute
thing and it doesn't work

Mine resets if you turn key to on for ten minutes or so and wait for light to stop blinking or go off before turning off, wait ten seconds and let it reset before starting

Only thing I heard is to disconnect yellow wire from stereo to ignition while car is running (to make sure you cut right wire) but gmechanics (chevy dealers) will not do it. Lookfor a mechanic who will, I am.
