When I turn my wheel left or right it's like my power steering is out but when I give it gas it loosens up, what could the problem be?

Yes the power steering fluid is full,
and it only whines a tad bit when
moving the wheel while sitting still.

I had the same problem not long after my belt ended up falling off because the whole power steering piece that helps hold the belt fall off had too replace the whole power steering and works fine mine sounded a little more like chirping tho

The belt could be slipping. The fluid in the pump could be low (indicating a leak). The fluid can be contaminated with water (happens over time). The pump can be going out. Contaminated fluid can clog up the rack and pinion. If the fluid is dark, change it, Bleed the entire system with new fluid before you begin throwing parts at the problem.

Thanks you all ,it really helped me a bunch! My girl (car)has been through a beaten,before I new her had her. Speaking of my F150. I only had this SUV only a month. And she acting up. I am glad that I am mechanically incline. Proxy works for me.
